The Food Safety Quality and Regulatory Product Line Specialist will provide specialized knowledge of specific segments of quality systems or plant processes such as food safety and quality auditing, instrumentation, specific product line knowledge, computer systems, management or oversight of product traceability, suppliers and other needed focus areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct verification and maintenance of the food safety and quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, plant environment and finished product.
Collaborates with operations on the initiation of corrective action and preventative measures when necessary.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate team members.
Ensure compliance to specifications for all product(s).
Maintain audit readiness in the production processes.
Complete verification of all food safety and quality activities for production of safe, compliant product(s).
Lead product traceability efforts for raw materials, ingredients, packaging and finished product(s).
Communicate essential information as related to Food Safety and Quality to all employees including management and line operations.
Facilitate as the technical resource for operations, engineering, and maintenance for guidance in Food Safety and Quality. I.e., weight control, foreign material programs, incident investigation, projects, new construction, equipment, etc. for product(s) produced. Escalate food safety concerns/consideration to upper management.
Support the sanitation program to ensure production areas are suitable to produce food grade product.
Accountable for talent management of direct report(s). Lead talent development activities, assigning and directing responsibilities, performance reviews, talent recruiting and hiring, addressing complaints, resolving problems and compliance with the organization's policies and applicable law, etc.
Work closely with operations to identify and mitigate food safety and quality risks.
Support other duties and projects with a flexible schedule, as needed.
Backfill other Product Line Specialists positions and FSQR Specialist, as needed.

Accountability: Working knowledge of GFSI standards, SQF preferred. Auditing experience preferred. Knowledgeable of US and International Regulations including FDA, USDA, and CFIA.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
PCQI Certified for Human Food
HACCP Certified - Preferred
Six-Sigma green or black belt preferred
Lean Manufacturing experience - Preferred
GFSI Experience
Additional necessary requirements for this position:
Must have the ability to sit, walk, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods of times daily.
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and able to perform in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
